The IMBA recently held our annual AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Sunday, October 2nd. Thank you to everyone who showed up. The AGM is your opportunity to gain insights into how the league is run, plans for the future, as well as the nomination and election of board members.
A few key highlights:
- The executive board passed a long-overdue revision and update to the Innisfil Minor Baseball constitution and policy book which governs how the league operates. Please feel free to download the updated versions on our about us page here
- The board welcomed two new members. Stephanie Cooper joins us as the IBMA's new secretary, and Keith Proulx is taking over as the IMBA's new equipment manager. Thanks and welcome to you both
We had many great successes this year.
- 26 total teams (up from 18 last season)
- 338 players (Up from 268 the previous season)
- growth of our rep and select divisions (4 rep/4 select)
- 6 t-ball local league teams
- Over 80 dedicated volunteer coaches
- Strong performances including an undefeated season from our Junior Rookie House League team led by Cam Mugford, a first ever trip to the provincials for our Bantam Major A team who ended up finishing 3rd in the province, 3rd place YSBA playoff finishes by our Minor Mosquito Select team and Major Peewee Rep team.
Thank you Brian and Michelle
We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our outgoing President Brian Constable - who has been a tireless advocate for Innisfil Baseball and who has presided over a period of unprecented growth in our league. Brian always put the interests of Innisfil Baseball first, selfessly dedicating his time to not only being our President, but also the Umpire in Chief (which he will continue to serve on as). Thank you Brian!
Also, we'll be saying goodbye to Michelle Stephens who has been invaluable as the league's secretary. Michelle has been a steadying influence on the board and we'll miss her ability to keep everyone on task and focused. Thank you for everything you have done Michelle!
